Lecturers from around the world are streaming into North Korean classrooms

Online education is now a reality in North Korea.

‘Project Changemakers’ (PCM) is an ongoing series of live lectures delivered via Zoom and other instruments to hundreds of students inside the DPRK. To-date, Choson Exchange has completed 7 iterations of online lecture programmes since the beginning of COVID-19 in North Korea. These lectures continue on a quarterly basis and involve academics and entrepreneurs from around the world to engage directly with eager students in Pyongyang.

Origin

North Korea was the first country to close its borders to China in January 2020, and they have remained shut until September 2023. Throughout this entire time, Choson Exchange has remained actively involved with our partners inside and outside of North Korea to coordinate and arrange workshops, lectures and demonstrations on topics related to entrepreneurship and positive change.

While many other organizations wrapped up ongoing operations when Covid began, we were able to rely on our extensive network of contacts and preceding reputation to deliver high-quality lectures from experts around the world for a new audience of North Korea’s next generations of entrepreneurs.

Join us as a lecturer

We are always looking for new volunteers to help us encourage positive change in North Korea. 

Since launching our online programmes, we have hosted faculty from universities in Switzerland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Singapore and more. We have also welcomed entrepreneurs, business leaders and even Michelin chefs teaching everything from designing the ideal boutique hotel breakfast menu to setting up your own recycling start-up.
