Choson Exchange is driven by a decentralized network of entrepreneurs and experts who are passionate about supporting entrepreneurship in North Korea's extremely challenging environment, with a deep interest and commitment to Korean issues.

Calvin | Associate Head of Programs | Infrastructure & Urban Innovation

Calvin is an architect and urban strategist with a special interest in unique socioeconomic conditions in cities. He teaches at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. He graduated from the Architectural Association in London and has lived and worked in Europe and Asia.

Ian B | Associate Head of Programs | Business & Entrepreneurship

Ian first visited North Korea in 2008, and has been volunteering with Choson Exchange since 2015. He works as a product manager in the legal technology sector and is currently based in London. He also works with Koryo Tours.

Jamin has been volunteering with Choson Exchange since 2020, having previously worked as a media strategist in Singapore and Indonesia. He currently assists Choson Exchange in online education programs. He is a graduate of the National University of Singapore.

Alvaro has more than 15 years of business experience, specializing in the area of Marketing and Communications. Alvaro has been volunteering with Choson Exchange since 2018 and has traveled to North Korea several times as a workshop leader and latterly as a workshop coordinator.

Julian is a graduate of St Gallen University in Switzerland. He joined a leading transport tech startup to lead and build their Asia Pacific Operations. He is active with the St Gallen Symposium and travels between Singapore and Switzerland.

David currently works as a research analyst in the alternative assets sector, and is based in Singapore. He previously designed Choson Exchange's economic policy training in Singapore and analyzes inter-Korean economic engagement. David graduated from the National University of Singapore.

Khanh was part of the founding team of one of the biggest co-working spaces in Vietnam, and has grown his interest in entrepreneurship ever since. He later joined one of the fastest growing food delivery companies in Southeast Asia as a business development manager.

Kim | Consultant

Kim graduated from the Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies among the top tier of her school in English. She is interested in issues related to Education, Women and Business, and follows the performance of various countries on the PISA test. Kim is obsessed with speed-reading.

Hwang | Consultant

Hwang is a graduate of the Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies. He has been involved in exchanges promoting peace and cooperation between the DPRK and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.
